A great place to take the family or the dogs. Nice easy parking lot and no fees! There is a trail at the end of the beach that goes out to San Simeon Pointe. Very nice and easy trail with great views of Hearst Castle. The is also a nice pier to walk out and check out the views.
We stopped at every vista point coming from north to south, starting with Elephant seal vista point. (Would have been the light hide but it was closed. It’s opened 3 days a week for two hours).
William R. Hearst State Beach is the closest public restrooms. It’s also where you have access to the pier that you can spot from 101.
The restrooms were clean and there are 4 single stalls. Don’t forget to go to the back. One at each corner.
We saw a several parties having a picnic at the tables throughout the site.
Love this place, it's beautiful and scenic. You can have a picnic lunch go the beach and to the pier. They also rent kayaks. They open at dawn and close at dusk. There is a trail you can go on. A lot of people go fishing on the pier. On the …
Nice beach with a lovely boardwalk into the bay. Great views of the beach and coastline. There are restrooms, which were clean and well maintained. A nice place for a picnic or a short stop as you drive the Highway 1.
Beach is nice. No fee to use it. There is also a very nice hiking trail that goes onto private property that is accessable to the public that runs along the coast with nice trees and good views.
One of my favorite local beaches. The walks and views are magical and peaceful please be kind and leave it magical ✨️
This was beautiful walk and the beach was really clean and nice. But the views from the pier were excellent!! If you go to Hearst castle this is also a must to walk. It directly across the street from the entrance road to Hearst Castle.
Excellent time! Beautiful beach! 420. Sunset spot! Great beach, no charge to get in.
Not too crowded. There are prettier beaches in California. But being able to look up and see Hearst Castle while on the beach was nice.
It's not very busy like other beaches. It's secluded and the little pier is nice. There is plenty of parking. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a lot of sea weeds therefore there was a lot of flies but not a huge deal.
